i am migrating to Australia from ireland where’s best pace to live and get job as a carpenter?

i want to know best state/or city to live for a couple in their 30’s
and get a great job+good weather

oh god – Cairns is calling out for carpenters / builders / plumbers anything to do in the building industry.

The Cairns and Innisfail region is still suffering from last years cyclone – with lack of builders homes that were damaged or need to be rebuilt is taking too long.

But don’t let that cyclone put you off coming here, they only come once in a blue moon – Tropical weather all year round – what more can you want?

Fishing every weekend – Great Barrier Reef on your doorstep, rainforests…… Cairns is great – I would never move!

Hedleys in Cairns is the largest construction company in Cairns (also richest bloke!) Anyhow he has 500 builders + so best to contact him … the website is http://www.twhedley.com.au/

Melbourne’s always a good place to live. Heaps of Irish pubs scattered in-and-around the city. The work here is pretty good as well. You could try: link below for employment.

As for the weather, we are currently in a drought, so not a lot of water around and our dams are only 29% full. The days are warm and the nights are coolish.

    Hope this helps you.

Gold Coast Queensland is the best. I live in Perth WA but wish I lived on the Gold Coast its so exciting especially for people in their 30’s. great weather too. Jobs are easy to find for those that really want to look. But why limit your options to carpenter? You are starting a new life, so why not try something completely different like surf life saver or tour guide? Could be fun. Good luck

If you’re a carpenter you will get work anywhere. Generally everyone in Australia wants to live in South-East Queensland (Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast) but it gets very hot there which
is a little different from Ireland. Weather wise you would be more used to Melbourne which is a fantastic city and has endless opportunity. Basically it breaks down like this:

    West Coast – don’t bother
    Inland – don’t bother

North Queensland. Very hot but very beautiful. Not any big cities so expect towns of around 20000 people.

South East Queensland – the growth capital of Australia without a doubt. There is heaps of building going on and a beautiful place to live – think relaxing with a young family.

Sydney – Heaps of work, very diverse city. Large asian population. Think up and coming people wanting to be somebody – not much time because so busy working.

Melbourne – Cultural capital of Australia – lots to do. Strange weather sometimes very hot, sometimes very cold you often get ‘four season in one day’. Has a large Italian/greek population – plenty of work. Think sipping a cafe latte after going out with friends be it footy/theatre/band.

Whatever you do stick to the East coast and you can’t really go wrong.

You WILL NOT find anywhere with more work available than WA. The construction industry cannot find enough workers around Margaret River or you could go north and make BIG money around Karratha
