Generally everyone in Australia wants to live in South-East Queensland (Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast) but it gets very hot there which is a little different from Ireland. Weather wise you would be more used to Melbourne which is a fantastic city and has endless opportunity. Basically it breaks down like this: West Coast - don't bother Inland - don't bother North Queensland. Very hot but very beautiful. Not any big cities so expect towns of around 20000 people. South East Queensland - the growth capital of Australia without a doubt. There is heaps of building going on and a beautiful place to live - think relaxing with a young family.
